Hi All

We are due to fly out of London Heathrow on Sunday to meet the Navigator of the Seas in Rome. To ensure he's suitably attired for the 2 formal nights we have DH is planning on taking a suit carrier. Does anyone know if we can take a suit carrier as carry on luggage? Or if addtional checked baggate what the cost might be? We are flying cattle class.

Many thanks

From the BA website:

Hand baggage allowance

"You are allowed one piece of hand baggage plus a laptop or handbag.

A 23kg (51lbs) maximum bag weight applies and you must be able to lift the bag unaided into the overhead lockers in the aircraft cabin.

Please see below for sizes.

Your main piece of hand baggage is up to the dimensions 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (22in x 18in x 10in), including the handle, pockets and wheels.

Your bag must fit into the bag gauge, available at the check-in area.

Your laptop or handbag is up to the dimensions 45cm x 36cm x 20cm (18in x 14in x 8in), including the handle and pockets.

Your laptop or handbag must fit under the seat in front of you."

For the additional piece of checked luggage, it's £34/$51/€43 if you pay before you get to the airport on ba.com, £40/$60/€50 if you pay at the airport.

BA can be a real pain on carry on bags. You absolutely can not count on being able to hang a suit bag on the plane.

So the bag will have to be folded at least in half if not in thirds and will have to fit the sizer.
