Taxi vans/SUVs at FLL

Does anyone have any experience with getting a large vehichle from the taxi stand at FLL? We'll need a ride to our hotel on SeaBreeze Blvd. There will be 4 of us (2 adults, 1 kid, 1 baby), probably 6-7 large suitcases, carseat and large stroller (it does fold up but is still roughly the size of a large suitcase.

 

I considered getting a car/van service just for piece of mind ($80), but cab fare to the hotel is only about $30 so it's a pretty big price gap. Does anyone know how easy it is to get a larger vehicle from the taxi stand?

We need such vehicles for a folding wheelchair and luggage...you may have to wait a few extra minutes but other than that you should not have a problem.:)

You can get them but as mentioned may have to wait longer for one.

We were a party of four adults with 4 big cases and four carry-ons when we got off the ship in Ft Lauderdale. We stood in the taxi line for about 10 minutes til we got to the front of the line. The man running it looked at our stuff and said we needed a SUV cab. We maybe waited another five or ten minutes for one to arrive. They seem to have a fair number of van and large SUV cabs so I think you will be okay.

It was approx. $15.00 to $20.00, no more. The airport is really close to the port, maybe 10 minutes tops.

What do most of you all tip the taxi drivers in Ft. Lauderdale airport/ cruise port ? Will be 4 of us and 8 to 10 pieces of luggage.
