zaknzoey Posted June 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2013 Can find little to NO info on this room! Some say it has a balcony. Some say it doesn't. It is(was?) listed on site as an "Ocean View Family" room. On one of the sister ships (don't remember which) it's listed as a Two Bedroom SUITE. When we made reservations for it, it was listed on Serenade as OV, but the reservation on Royal's website says Two Bedroom Suite! But the price was definitely NOT Suite prices. Does ANYONE have ANY pictures of this room on Serenade??? Does it have TWO bed ROOMS? Does it have TWO bathrooms? THANKS!!
lady_cruiser Posted June 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) According to the RCL website it is a two bedroom family suite. Edited June 15, 2013 by lady_cruiser
redhead621 Posted June 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2013 Cabin 1054 is in the space that used to be the Concierge Lounge. After the ship went into dry dock they made it into a 2 room family suite. I believe that it does have a small balcony.
retird Posted June 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2013 Call the RCCL reservation line and they will tell you exactly what type of room it is. I have looked at three different websites and each has a different description for the room. Then again if you are happy with the room and price just leave it be. foxgoodrich Posted June 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2013 There's a bit of info on Royal's site...copied below: Stateroom Details on the Serenade Of The Seas Two twin beds (can convert into queen-size), additional bunk beds in separate area, separate sitting area with sofa bed, and a private bathroom with shower. (319 sq. ft.) Stateroom can accommodate up to 6 guests. Please note: A minimum number of guests may apply. To reserve this stateroom, please contact your travel agent or one of our Certified Vacation Specialists. Here's the link (with pics): http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cabinclass/cabinTypes/cabinType/home.do?br=R&cabincls=O&cabinType=FF&pager.offset=10 It's not exactly a two bedroom suite, but it's large enough for a family! It has a living room area, the main bedroom area (2 twin beds that merge together into a king), and there's an alcove with bunk beds. The bunk bed alcove is small and is curtained off from the living area. The living room area has a sofa bed. This cabin has only one bathroom and no balcony. You are right - the category is FO or Family Oceanview. Basically that means an OV cabin roomy enough to accommodate a family who can share a bathroom, but it's not a true suite and includes no suite perks. I've seen the FO on Navigator, and it was a very nice space. If you can live with one bathroom, the 319 sq ft of space will be great for a family! Looking at the Serenade deck plan, 1054 is on the hump, rather than in the bow of the ship. The deck plan makes it look like there is a small balcony, but the description of the cabin says nothing about a balcony, so I wouldn't count on it. It is confirmed with 100% certainty there is no balcony in the old concierge lounge family suite. I have a friend on board Serenade now who along with an officer has confirmed there is none. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1853850&highlight=1054

suzyluvs2cruise Posted June 15, 2013 #13 Share Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) We got off Serenade on June 12. I can confirm that there is no balcony for cabin 1054. There are floor to ceiling windows. Friends had a cabin a few doors down and, if the curtains are open and the lights turned on in 1054, you can see inside the living area. I did take some pictures but haven't uploaded them yet. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=fpHVcXnJv_0&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DfpHVcXnJv_0 Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app This video is of Radiance, not Serenade. suzyluvs2cruise Posted June 22, 2013 #18 Share Posted June 22, 2013 The view forward from Serenade cabin 1054. If you have the lights on in this cabin you need to keep the curtains closed if you don't want everyone on the port side deck 10 forward looking in.
mommabean Posted June 22, 2013 #19 Share Posted June 22, 2013 Wow, it looks like a really nice room without the balcony. It's definitely roomier than the one on Radiance that has the balcony taking up part of that space. Thanks for posting the pictures. Gina

MikeBayAreaCa Posted July 8, 2013 #23 Share Posted July 8, 2013 We had cabin 1552 two years ago and the new room is the former Concierge Room. We loved it there. Great views and very peaceful to sit and have coffee in the morning.
ChicagoBound Posted July 11, 2013 #24 Share Posted July 11, 2013 Great pix! We've got this room on the Seranade in March 2014. I'll miss the balcony, but the floor to ceiling windows are amazing. Great hump view and great location. Now, if someone can find pix of the rest of this "two bedroom suite"!
