Marina Mandarin Hotel Singapore

We have stayed twice. Enjoyed both visits. Nice english pub out the front door and left a block or two. Hotel is connected to a seemingly unending collection of malls with food courts. So you don't have to go outside for a quick meal if it is pouring out.

Yeah, they are all connected overground or underground - it is very convenient to get all the stuff you need and also have your meals outside the hotel.

Food courts are a great place to have your meals. There are also many eateries and restaurants to explore.

One example of a mall would be Marina Square - http://www.marinasquare.com.sg/

Look at the directory and you can find Marina Mandarin and other hotels - http://www.marinasquare.com.sg/directory

Fabulous info, thank you very much!

I attended a wedding at Conrad Centennial yesterday evening and took a walk around Millenia Walk. Marina Mandarin is not too far away.

Having not been there in a while, I noticed many new eateries. Sure looks fun.

Hotel is in a really good location. Raffles, metro, shops, other hotels all 5 min walk. Starbucks which is also 5 min away at the metro station has free wi-fi.

Hotel is clean, modern, and typically, has an expensive bar! Stock up in the 7-11 nearby.

I would stay here again as its also pretty reasonable. Hunt around as i think you may be able to get a deal.

Anyone has any idea how far is the walk from the hotel to the river cruise terminal?

We caught a taxi to and from the river cruises, as they are so very cheap. We had a great time at this hotel, and would def stay there again. fyi...there is internal access from the hotel into a large mall. On the top floor of this mall is a food court, with very cheap and exceptionally delicious meals. Loads of options and very clean. The rooftop pool was beautiful, rooms large and again clean. Ask for a Marina view room. Best to ask at the desk for directions to sights like Raffles, as most are accessible via underground from the mall....much cooler this way! There is another mall across the road (where the HOHO buses depart from), also nice, but did prefer the one attached to the hotel.

Is there good breakfasts to be had in that food hall? Just wondering cos if there is then won't but breakfast through the hotel :)

The breakfast at the hotel was way too expensive for us, even though it was a buffet style. Because we were only there a couple of days post cruise, we went into the attached mall, and ate breakfast at Maccas/Burger King or similar. Quite a few places to choose from apart from Maccas, particularly if you want an Asian breakfast. We were happy to eat junk after the cruise for this meal:) Lunch and dinner meals are ridiculously cheap, around the AU$5 mark. Can't really remember the cost of hotel breakfast, but think it was around the $35pp mark:eek:. Friends did do the breakfast one morning, and said even though it was good, it perhaps wasn't worth the expense, and nothing special being the usual hotel buffet breakfast.

Just adding.....the Asian food hall is on the top storey of the mall, accessed via escalators, and overlooking the Marina Bay area. Things like Maccas/Burger King are on the same level as the hotel. Food is easy to find in Singapore, but watch out for those drink prices!

Thanks for the info on food, booked room included breakfast, now thinking to re-book a room without breakfast to save some $. Thanks again.

How many times did you get lost in the underground Malls?:D:D

We always seemed to take the wrong exit and end up coming out in another street or across the road from where we wanted to be , and had to retrace our steps , as it was impossible to cross the roads at some points.

Lots of fun though , and I do agree , those food halls are the way to go. Fantastic.:)

Hi David! Yes, it took us a whole day to realise there was an exit at far end of 'our' mall, which went underground in order to cross the road! All of these underground passageways are crammed with shops too.

Best thing is to ask before setting out for the day.

btw David....hope u r well:)

We stayed there just last year; beautiful!

We stayed only one night so booked the breakfast since we hadn't in our pre-cruise hotel.

Next door in the shopping mall there should be breakfast places and one reliable chain is Toastbox! Plus there is lots of bakery and cafe chains around. All reasonably priced if you are doing a few nights at the Mandarin.
