Have you been on Sunshine Breeze or Liberty!?!?

Recommended Posts

My fiancé and I are wanting to get married on a Carnival cruise! We were planning on doing the Dream next summer but now they have moved it to New Orleans :(. TOTALLY BUMMED OUT!!!!!

Leaves me with three choices:

1. The Breeze: seems nice but my fiancé would prefer more than six nights. I know they do 8 nights but I'm worried that's too much time off for family members but it could be possible.

2. Sunshine: I haven't read great things and that worries me... But we are close to the port and it's a seven night... If you have been what is your opinion on this ship!? The deck plans don't convince me!!!

3. The liberty. I don't know much about this ship but as mentioned above 8 nights might be too long but I am willing to hear opinions on the ship.

Thoughts and opinions!?

Any other suggestions for next summer from Florida!?!?

Thanks!!!!

Have been on Liberty and Breeze - both more than once. I would always go for an 8 day cruise over a 6 day. By the time you really get comfortable and start enjoying the ship, you have to debark!! Also - the 8 day cruises usually go Sat. thru Sun., so it would be the same 5 days off (M-F) people would probably have to take, anyway. I was on Sunshine when it was Destiny - the new upgrades don't thrill me, as they took away some of the passenger space to put in more cabins. I loved Liberty, but also enjoyed Breeze - there are plenty of quieter spots on deck to go to to avoid the crowds (deck 5 outside casino area is one- there is a hottub close by, and plenty of drink servers!). All 3 ships have a Serenity area, which is nice to escape kids, if you want. I book by itinerary, then price/ship. Congrats on your upcoming marriage!

I have just returned from a 12 day Med cruise aboard the Sunshine. I previously had cruised on the Destiny (3 times). The upgrade and changes are remarkable. The flow in the dining areas, the 3 level Serenity space, the new production shows and live music all around the ship were amazing! Anyone with doubts about the Sunshine should put them to rest. It is an awesome ship, which I will definitely sail again in the near future!

Thanks everyone!!! There is a ton of love for the Liberty! I think the Sunshine sounds like it is hit or miss based on preferences but I am beginning to think any ship will be good if we have a group :)

I cruise for the ship not the itinerary and have been known to not get off at ports, but I think I should change my perspective for this particular cruise :)

Thanks everyone!!!

We absolutely loved the Liberty. In fact it is the only ship we decided to go on again. It's really beautiful, and not tacky like some other Carnival ships. We sailed on the Freedom last year, and although it is the same layout it didn't compare to the Liberty, at least in our opinion. :)

Thanks for that. I remember when the Breeze had less than stellar reviews in Europe and we loved sailing on her. Seriously considering Sunshine for May cruise. The serenity area looks great and almost makes up for no T-Pool.

I have not been on the Liberty or the Sunshine, however, we did cruise on the Breeze in April. She would definitely be my vote. Brand new ship, very toned down, Caribbean feel. Offers everything and THEN some:D:D Plus the 8 days is an added bonus, and as another poster said, it's Saturday-Sunday, so they wouldn't have to take off any additional time. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!!:D
