My daughter asks...."why do you like cruising so much?"

Recommended Posts

Simply, cruising is FUN!! Someone else cooks and cleans for you and there are so many things to do, things to eat, places to see! I also seem to always meet interesting people on cruises and always feel more comfortable talking to new people than in the "real world". Cruise ships really are floating fantasy lands!!

"Floating Fantasy Lands!" What a concept!!!!

I love:

not cooking

no dishes

delicious food

hearing the ocean's whoosh, whoosh, whoosh

seeing the blue sky, clouds and the changing colors of the ocean

traveling to different places without packing and unpacking over and over

sea days where I don't have to do anything

freedom from mail, email, phone calls, bills

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!" Yes! That's exactly the sound!

I love the feeling I get in the pit of my stomach when I arrive at the pier and see that amazing, giant of a ship before me.....it gives me the goosie's every time!

I love unpacking my suitcase [once], eating a great meal, going to the "welcome aboard show", going to sleep in one town, being rocked gently, as I sleep, to wake-up in a whole new city or even a new country.

I love the smell of the sea and the wind blowing through my hair.

I love being treated like I matter and I'm someone special.

What do you love?

I love being waited on.

I love being able to see new places so easily, just unpacking once.

I love having time to read without guilt since no housework to do.

I love looking out at the ocean on sea days, knowing I have nothing I must do.

I love being waited on.

I love being able to choose from various options on the menu.

I love being able to choose from a variety of entertainment every evening.

I love being waited on.

I love that it is a true vacation for me since I don't have anything I must do once I board the ship.

Did I mention that I love being waited on? :)

I know I can feel this way when I'm in a hotel also, but it's different onboard a ship. I know that once we learn the ship it's not so new anymore but every day is different and if you're like me....I can spread-out each day as if every day is BRAND NEW!!! While, the world around me [on the outside] is truly BRAND NEW!!!!!

All good answers to that daughter's question. I might add, however, that I would like to use up just that much more of her inheritance so that she would not have to worry about answering that same question from her daughter.

Oh! Yeah! I will be leaving lots and lots of pictures......I love the embarkation picture; the formal night picture; the pictures at the dining room table; the pictures when we get into a new port and we're leaving the ship; the video of me doing some sort of "line dance" by the pool; the picture of me holding a "foo-foo" drink in the pool, etc., etc.
