Rare theminnow Posted July 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2013 We are thinking about taking the #7 bus to Horseshoe Bay, and walking the path from that beach to Warwick Bay. We would then like to catch the #7 bus back to Hamilton or the Dockyard. Approximately how close are the bus stops to these beaches? I have also read about the hill at Horseshoe Bay, is it difficult for someone in average shape to walk up & down? Thanks, Craig
flowers44 Posted July 22, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2013 The walk to Horseshoe is not bad going down as going down is always easier. We opted for the $2 ride back up after spending the time at the beach and we were glad we did. The Bus stop for Horseshoe from the Dockyard is right at the top of the hill. The bus will go past the road to the beach, turn around on a side loop, and then come back to drop you off. That puts the bus on the correct side of the road for the passengers to get off on the sidewalk. We found the driving on the opposite side of the road was very interesting. Not sure where the bus stop is for Warwick Beach but, if you ask the driver, they are very willing to help you out. Probably someone else will come on and tell you about that bus stop. blue_water Posted July 24, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2013 Just for your info, WLB is much closer to the stop, but it's fairly steep for the return walk. We stay across the street and walk it easily (in our 50's) but someone with mobility issues would want to taxi to either.
