baytraller Posted July 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Looking for advice on the best Category A1 cabin on the Quest as regards noise and position . Are cabins 431 to 434 which are the closest to mid-ship also quiet . Are you able to hear the doors connecting the corridors opening and closing . There seems to be multiple stairs , near the lifts and restaurant .
dalliowner Posted July 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2013 Because 431 and 434 are near the restaurant entrance you will get people congregating but only during the opening times and so after9.30 should be quiet.
FKGirl Posted July 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2013 We were in 421 last year and it was great. Very convenient location, and as these suites do not have balconies, there is a hallway outside the rooms separating them from the main hallway. It is not noisy at all and rarely did we hear other people outside. http://Http://www.floridakeysgirl.com
Stabilizer Posted July 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2013 We were in 432 and it was very quiet. As FKGirl wrote, the cabin corridor is separated from the "common" area outside the restaurant. Besides, Deck 4 cabins are located at the back entrance to the restaurant, which is used by fewer people than the main entrance. Bottom line: noise shouldn't be an issue. FKGirl Posted July 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2013 I consider any cabin I am in to be great... as long as I am on the ship I am happy! :)
zorro90068 Posted July 23, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 23, 2013 I would avoid any connecting Suites on Deck 4. They tend to be really very noisy and you can hear thru the adjoining door everything!
lincslady Posted July 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2013 Our experience has been that the port side (even nos) on deck 4 between 426 and 432 are extremely quiet - no-one opposite, as you have your own small corridor; and no noise from the central corridor. One suite on the starboard side was occasionally noisy - I think it was due to there being crew stairs going down below. So would heartily recommend those mentioned above. Have not experienced being part of a possible double suite, but would suggest that it should perhaps be avoided. You are some distance from the public rooms at the stern, and have to either cross the dining room (no problem) or walk across at a higher level. This is the only marginal problem, and it is not really one.
FKGirl Posted July 25, 2013 #8 Share Posted July 25, 2013 We actually walked through the dining room to get to the other side of the ship a bunch of times (often through staff meetings, etc.) and nobody cared. No big deal at all. http://floridakeysgirl.com
