How bad is the smoking on the Valor

I am not trying to start anything. I don't want to offend smokers but I was wondering if the ship has areas that are very smoky. We have booked a cabin at the back of the ship on deck 6 and I have read that some people find the smoke is bad. I have allergies and want to be prepared. :)

I am sure it varies by the cruise... I know that the aft cabins don't seem to get as much air movement as a balcony on one of the sides.

If you don't have smokers on either side of you, you should be fine...

I've heard that the casino and the cigar bar get fairly smokey (the cigar bar is also the entrance to the internet café.)

Hope it all works out for you and that you have a wonderful cruise!!!:)

I had a aft cabin on the Valor same deck and cigarette odor was minimal. There will be some soot from the stacks but not much at all, use a wash cloth to wipe chairs and railing to be sure.:)

Balconies yes , smoke your lungs out  Other areas such as lido is where the problem starts ;)

These people have been on Valor before the new regs even started and areas cut back. I wonder how the smoking situation was for them at that time?

Cruised the Valor last September. Couple next to our Aft Balcony smoked, but it did not really bother us. She smoked quite a bit and at all hours of the night, but with the breeze back there, other than an occasional whiff - no problems with our balcony neighbor.

The casino on the Valor was always bad. I loved the way it is set up on the Dream with one side smoking and one side non-smoking. I do not know what type of ventilation system they use, but you literally cannot smell the smoke on the non-smoking side. Quite nice!

I've been on the valor twice and was never bothered by it. I'm a non-smoker. As mentioned the casino is the exception and it is very smoky. But it's a casino what do you expect. It would be like walking into a bar and complaining about the alcohol sales ;)

It's a lovely ship, even a somewhat more relaxed decor... By carnival standards anyway.

I don't smoke either and agree the smoke in the casino is bad. Its funny when I go to a land base casino and see people wearing mask because of the smoke. They can't stand the smoke but it dosn't stop them from pulling them slots handles all night.I think you do see some smoking where they shouldn't be,but they may not really no.

We were on Valor in June. Never noticed any particularly smoky parts of the ship

but as someone said earlier, it depends on the crowd on board for Your Cruise.

Maybe we had a largely-non-smoking crowd?

And yes the decor is much better than some Carnival ships.

I've only been on her once in Feb. and the only place that was really bad was the casino. Since we only visited it for short periods of time it wasn't an issue for us. No other places were bad and we had smokers above and to the side of our aft wrap balcony with no issues. She is a very nice ship.
