Thank you very much, John. Sailed with Capt. Mercer on Veendam Inaugural in 1996 in the Caribbean. My late husband and me renewed our wedding vows then. Will have to take a couple of pictures we took of Capt. Mercer way back then. Seems like a lifetime ago now.

We sailed with him two years ago. Prior to that, we hadn't seen him since 2003. He hasn't changed much, like the rest of us, just a little greyer.

Thanks, Typhoon1 - wish I could share the photos from 1996 but that was long before digital cameras. One of the photos is of Capt. Mercer and the Chief Engineer, Mr. Pisani in tanks tops and shorts on the gangway somewhere in the Caribbean on their way for some R&R. I know all about the greyer thing but being female can dye it. Wish it were that easy to shed the pounds.:rolleyes:
