Rare 1025cruise Posted August 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2013 I wouldn't consider it walking distance if that is what you are asking.
bermuda8553 Posted August 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2013 its about 2 2 1/2 miles from pier. A quick cab ride, a good 1/2 hr. walk . I'd jump in a cab.

Or you can take the SL2 bus-that-pretends-to-be-a-subway-train from the pier to South Station. It's a pretty short walk from there.
Dona March Posted August 9, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Thanks for the info ....my husband and I are runners, think the walk will be ok for us ......long as it is not raining :D
138east Posted August 9, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Google Boston Harborwalk to get a map of the route along the Harbor, which I think is a really nice walk. The first part between the pier and the South Station area is less interesting. If the weather is poor, you can take the Silver Line to South Station and transfer free to the RedLine Direction Alewife to go one stop to Downtown Crossing where you take the Orange Line direction Oak Grove to Haymarket. jcl410 Posted August 12, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 12, 2013 You can also take the Red line 2 stops to Park st, then take the Green line to Government Center; You'll walk right past Fanuel(sp?) Hall on the way to Quincy Market. Aloha, John
