Emperor Norton Posted August 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2013 I saw the spa thread where the claim was made staff didn't get the 18% gratuity. Do bartenders not get the 18% added to drinks? Sent from smoke signals and a telegraph

Sent from smoke signals and a telegraph If the spa staff didn't get the gratuity, who did?? Absolutely unbelievable that the spa or the ship would add an 18% gratuity to the already extremely unbelievably high spa charges and then expect the customer to provide a gratuity to the person taking care of you. Truly absurd if true which is highly doubtful.

Sent from smoke signals and a telegraph Tips go into a giant pool. The more senior staff get a larger share of the pool. Junior bartenders would get a lot less than 18%. So would waiters and sommeliers etc. This is S.O.P. in the cruise and hotel industries.
