Rare theminnow Posted August 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Has anyone been to this island to see the swimming pigs? At some point I would like to see them, and I was wondering how hard and expensive it is to get to this island from a more popular island. I have NO boating experience so renting a boat is something that will not happen. Wouldn't want to end up like Gilligan.:) Thanks, Craig
Rare CruisinCrow Posted August 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Pig Island is in the Exumas and nowhere near Nassau or Freeport. I'm hoping to get there some day myself! If you're in a port till midnight or overnight, you might want to check into the Powerboat Adventure. No pigs but you do get to feed the iguanas. :)
Rare theminnow Posted August 13, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2013 CruisinCrow, Thanks for the information. I'll definitely check into the feeding of the iguanas, that sounds pretty neat. Craig
Rare CruisinCrow Posted August 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Iguanas aren't nearly as cute as pigs but it might still be fun. We haven't taken this excursion ourselves yet because it is pretty pricey and you'd have to be in Nassau late since it's a full day tour. But it gets great reviews. We might have to stay in the Exumas next year, just so I can see the pigs. :)
