Big Major Cay aka Pig Island

Has anyone been to this island to see the swimming pigs? At some point I would like to see them, and I was wondering how hard and expensive it is to get to this island from a more popular island. I have NO boating experience so renting a boat is something that will not happen. Wouldn't want to end up like Gilligan.:)

Pig Island is in the Exumas and nowhere near Nassau or Freeport. I'm hoping to get there some day myself!

 

If you're in a port till midnight or overnight, you might want to check into the Powerboat Adventure. No pigs but you do get to feed the iguanas. :)

Thanks for the information. I'll definitely check into the feeding of the iguanas, that sounds pretty neat.

Iguanas aren't nearly as cute as pigs but it might still be fun. We haven't taken this excursion ourselves yet because it is pretty pricey and you'd have to be in Nassau late since it's a full day tour. But it gets great reviews.

 

We might have to stay in the Exumas next year, just so I can see the pigs. :)
