Twocoasts Posted August 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2013 I can't find anything on this ship on Cruise Critic, but the Oceania web site shows a Holy Lands sailing for June 2014. Anyone know why the info is hidden here?
computerworks Posted August 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2013 Insignia has been chartered to Hapag-Lloyd for two years as the Columbus 2; Columbus 2 will rejoin the Oceania fleet as the Insignia again in May 2014

cruzmaven Posted August 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 16, 2013 I can't find anything on this ship on Cruise Critic, but the Oceania web site shows a Holy Lands sailing for June 2014. Anyone know why the info is hidden here? The Insignia is a Renaissance ship more or less identical to the Regatta and Nautica. From the CC Oceania review: The cruise line originally operated vessels from the defunct Renaissance Cruises. (Its 684-passenger R1 and R2 were renamed Regatta and Insignia.) Nautica, another Renaissance R-class vessel, joined the fleet in 2005. (Oceania Insignia has been chartered to Hapag-Lloyd, where it sails as Columbus 2, through 2014.) ... Still, it was Regatta, launched in summer 2003, (and Insignia and Nautica, which followed) that originally set the tone for Oceania's unique style. The company has spent more than $10 million to refurbish these late-1990's vessels, and it shows. Public rooms, including restaurants, are graceful and elegant. The redone pool area is surfaced in teak and boasts teak furnishings (including fabulous double sunbeds). Cabins have been tweaked and feature more comfortable bed linens and mattresses. neepawa Posted August 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2013 There is lots of activity, although no reviews, on the Oceania Roll Call Forums for Insignia. Cheers, Don
Sherard Posted August 17, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 17, 2013 Have you looked at Oceania's website for the Insignia's' cruises in 2014 and beyond especially the CC WC of 2015 roll call?
JimandStan Posted August 17, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 17, 2013 There is lots of activity, although no reviews, on the Oceania Roll Call Forums for Insignia. Cheers, Don Yes, but that is probably for the best, the Insignia is presently being operated by that "other company" so nothing that you read about her under the Oceania Banner would be current enough to mean anything. When she comes back, she is going to be spiffed up and get a new crew, so little would be applicable, anyway. Nautica and Regatta are identical to the Insignia, so if you need to read something pertinent about how Oceania operates that class of ship, why not check out those reviews?
