Earliers flight out of Anchorage if ship arrives at 7am?

My NCL ship arrives at Whittier at 7am. What is the earliest flight out of Anchorage I will be able to make?

What does the cruise line have as a suggested "earliest departure time"?

 

If you have a private taxi/transfer service (for you and your party alone - no one else) and walk off the ship yourself with your luggage, you can be through the 8am tunnel and to Anchorage shortly after 9am. So probably 11.30am is the absolute earliest flight time if everything goes right.

depends on which transportation method you use. And your comfort level. Keep in mind that you must use a tunnel to exit Whittier ... it's only open on the hour when leaving Whittier.

A taxi or car service would be the quickest but pricey.... if the ship docks at 7am, you could catch the 8am tunnel opening and be at the airport around 9:30am. I like a little cushion in case of traffic issues so I'd book a flite for noon or later.

 

You could also rent a car at Avis in Whittier but I don't think the office opens until 8am, so you would catch the 9am tunnel opening and arrive at the airport around 10:30am. So a 1:30pm flight

 

For other options look at schedules for the Park Connection Bus, Seward Busline, Alaska Railroad, cruiseline transfer, independent transfer.

Especially on cruise ship days, the Anchorage airport can be very bogged down, it is "best" to allow a 2 hour window. I too would not recommend anything prior to 11:30am.

We use (as an example)...RCI cruise train transfers from Seward and you must have a flight no earlier than 2:30pm..the cruise train arrives into ANC at 11:30am..As suggested above do your research..missing your flight home :eek::eek:
