TwinPrincessMermaids Posted August 19, 2013 #27 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Just got my reservation for booked Princess cruise, GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Smoking is no longer permitted in most areas of the ship, including all staterooms and balconies. I could be wrong, but after one of the Princess ships suffered a fire that started on the balcony from a cigarette (not my opinion), they banned smoking on the balconies on the Princess line. I believe this was quite a while ago...
iruser Posted August 19, 2013 #28 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Yes, for quite a while now, as long as they are dress shorts. Except on Elegant night, and never in the steakhouse. I don't see how my jeans are dressier than my dress shorts for elegant night. I'm wearing my dress shorts to work as an accountant today. I would never dream of wearing jeans. (on a four day cruise from port canavaral [on sensation] which night is elegant night anyway?)
iruser Posted August 19, 2013 #29 Share Posted August 19, 2013 When is thong night? thong night should be the same day as pajama day at work! if you really want to see me in my pj's then okkkkk. if you really want to see me in a thong then okkkkk. cruzfitter Posted August 19, 2013 #30 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Once again, Carnival is the INNOVATOR! Let others define the bleeding edge, Carnival can afford to wait and see what works and what doesn't. OK, which 1 is it.

I believe this was quite a while ago... That was 2006. From cigarette melting non fire retardant plastic, polycarbonate, glass doors and partitions not fire retardant, no fire detection nor fire suppression devices on balconies. Once repaired, now have sprinklers, fire retardant furniture etc. Now, all materials are fire retardant.

Maxiecat3 Posted August 19, 2013 #37 Share Posted August 19, 2013 You have facts to prove that ? Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app http://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/2013_InfoGraphic_CruiseIndustryNews.pdf Sure do. (1 correction - they have the number of ships for RCI wrong. It should be 21). If nothing else changes over what has already been announced, by the end of 2016 both lines will have 25 ships and RCI will widen it's margin that they already have in GRT, berths, and passenger sea days. That is unless Carnival can add about 400 berths to all their ships or build 3 new 4,000 passenger ships that have not been announced by the end of 2016. bob sims Posted August 19, 2013 #45 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Can't understand why people get so bothered by the wearing of presentable shorts, especially on Florida, Caribbean, Bahamas cruises.
