Is a 10:45 flight too early???

For a 10:45 flight you need to be at TPA by 9:15 (and 9:00 or earlier is better), which means clear of customs/immigration and in a cab with bags and rolling by just before 9:00 -- since it is a Saturday you will not have to worry much about traffic.

IF the ship gets in on time and IF there are no customs/immigraiton delays and IF there are no traffic issues or airport security issues you should make your flight, but do you want to spend your cruise worried about making your flight home? If you miss your 10:45 flight how long until the next flight and how much will the airline make you pay to change your tickets?

If it was me I would find a flight leaving at noon or later - but it is your call. Good luck! :)
