xplor97 Posted September 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2013 We will be in Aruba on the Carnival Sunshine from 1PM - 10PM. After spending the day at Palm Beach swimming, relaxing, eating and drinking we will probably want to head back to the ship to get cleaned up and then enjoy some of the nightlife near the port. Is there any nightlife near the port? A place that will have music, drinks and a fun atmosphere? If not then where should we head to find something similar and how long of a cab ride should we expect? Are there any traffic concerns getting back to the ship? We want to enjoy ourselves but definitely do not want to miss the ship. Thank you!
cb at sea Posted September 3, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2013 There are casinos within walking distance! Plenty of drinks there! We didn't see any bands, but that doesn't mean they weren't there!

Arubalisa Posted September 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2013 In downtown Oranjestad at the Renaissance market place there are the martini bars such as Blu at the Renaissance or Cilo City Lounge. The Grand Café Tropical offers live jazz and Caribbean music, Latin dancing and karaoke. Mojitos's on the second level of Royal Plaza offers salsa and meringue while the Paddock across the street offers up snacks, and typical bar atmosphere. Café Chaos, is a more relaxed Dutch style bar a short walk from the cruise terminal and offers live music nights and happy hour. A bit further south is Nikky Beach Club. xplor97 Posted September 4, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted September 4, 2013 Thanks Arubalisa! Reading your comment it sounds like we could just follow ours ears to the music... Are any of the places a lil more lively...rowdy...lets say crazier...than the others?
Arubalisa Posted September 4, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 4, 2013 I know during the day Mojito's is a big draw for cruisers. The Paddock will be very convenient and is popular with the Dutch students but may not get going until later at night. I would have suggested Palm Beach and a place like Senor Frogs, but with the traffic in downtown Oranjestad it will be a hassle getting back. xplor97 Posted September 4, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted September 4, 2013 We will be spending the day at Palm beach and hitting those restaurants/bars during the day. What is the expected drive time from Palm beach area back to the ship?
Arubalisa Posted September 4, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 4, 2013 I would give yourself a good 20 minutes. Without traffic it is more like 10 minutes.
