Epic - what do you like on the buffet

First ncl sailing coming up in 5 weeks. We do not usually frequent the buffet on other ships, but all the reviews I've read about ncl talk about how good the buffets are.

 

What do you particularly like on the buffet? What's a "do not miss" here?

They have a great breakfast selection! Just about everything you can think of.

Things I liked about the Epic Buffet:

 

Great selection of breakfast foods.

Wonderful fresh baked bread and rolls.

Sandwich station at lunch.

Great variety of things to choose from.

Indian food and carved meat at dinner time.

Very good pasta station.

 

 

A couple of things I didn't like:

 

Desserts that looked very enticing yet somehow the taste didn't match the look.

 

Pizza that was about the quality of grocery store frozen pizza.

 

Oh, almost forgot. Not a fan of crepes but people were raving about them.

 

I'm not usually a big fan of buffets but the one on the Epic never disappointed me, not once.

The Indian cuisine is usually very good...oh, and the crepe station in the evening.

I loved the carving station - every meat was tender and juicy. My favorite though was the beef and then I went over to where the cheeses are and got crumbled bleu cheese for the top of it. Yummm.

Pretzel rolls!!! I crave them now!

 

Smoked salmon and bagel with all the fixings at breakfast.

 

I got hooked on the eggplant curry. Mmm... I had to learn how to make it!

Pretzel rolls! It's all my wife talks about between cruises... All she wants is to get back on board to "steal" more pretzel rolls...

A lot of the above. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Fruit, yoghurt, the egg and bacon muffins. the nuts and dried fruits section. A good variety of bread and rolls for lunch. The hot meats, bratwursts with cheese or jalopenos, a variety of salad ingredients so you can make one up to suit yourself, desserts - lemon slice, apple slice etc. Good size, not too big(although I give the sugar free ones a miss). The hard ice cream. The variety of cheese, crackers and nuts. We never go to the buffet for dinner, but always do breakfast and lunch there! We love it! :D

They have fantastic boneless breaded chicken breasts and the mashed potatoes are top notch too. But they recently added Mango flavored water that I dont think you can get at the MDR's.

I have read many good things about the indian food, but I have never tasted it. what is it like in general--spicy? I cant wait to try it.

Made to order crepes.they are only available at dinner but oh so good with a variety of toppings and fillings.

Also enjoyed the chilled fruit soup of the day

They tend to make it pretty mild but very flavorful.
