Is there another choice of travelers insurance other than the one carnival offers? has any purchased it somewhere elsefor less? Thanks for any imput you can give us.

Absolutely! We use Travelguard, LOTS cheaper than Carnival's.

The "for less" part depends on a number of factors. The cruise line's plan doesn't take age into account when figuring the premium -- 20 or 80, you pay the same.

 

The third-party insurers generally do charge seniors more. Usually, when you get to about 75+ the cruise line plans start looking pretty cost effective IF they cover what you need covered.

We buy our travel insurance through The Trip Insurance Store. Their site is very informative. If we have any questions we call and speak to one of their knowledgeable agents. Lately we have been buying Travel Safe Insurance. It's primary insurance. We buy it with in 21 days of booking our cruise so that pre-existing medical conditions are covered.
