Is it customary to tip Behind The Fun Tour guide?

Maybe this has been asked, but couldn't find it - if we take the Behind the Fun Tour, is it usual/customary to tip the guide? And if so how much have you tipped?

I also did not. If memory serves me correctly, our guide was the CD. He is salaried and I'm sure he didn't expect a tip.

We had someone from the shore excursion desk leading our tour, and we did not tip him - didn't see anyone else do so either, but might have missed it...

Every time I've taken the tour, The escort/briefer was a salaried employee from the HR department. I don't think I've ever seen anyone tip her.

Same here. Both times she was the education coordinator, which is a salaried position, so you wouldn't normally tip them.

In fact, our guide on Imagination told us her cabin was up on Lido, and because she had just recently gotten her promotion, she didn't have to share. :)

I expect most of the salaried staff, hotel officers and ship's officers stay 'upstairs' and not 'downstairs.' (This is starting to sound like Downton Abbey. :) )

 

The stateroom topic came up because she was needling the Chief Engineer about the very bumpy ride we'd had coming south to Cozumel. Since her cabin was high and in front, she said she was "bouncing out of her bunk." The engineer told us apologetically that they'd done everything they could to trim the ship: max stabilizers, filling the 'bulb' below the bow to help steady the ship...... THAT was a great Behind the Fun tour, and very informative!

Wonder if we were on the same tour? Ours was from HR, and was on board to do training. We didn't tip either but it was an awesome tour. It was on the Liberty by the way.

We did that tour on Imagination a few years ago. We did not think to tip, neither did anyone else in the group.

 

I don't think its expected since the tour is something extra you're paying for (which costs the cruise line nearly nothing), and it's pretty pricey in and of itself.

On the Victory in May, we tried to tip, but the gal said she couldn't accept it. I believe she was from HR as well.
