Has anyone stayed at Harrahs and traveled to and fro? We are staying both pre and post cruise in March/April. What is the best way for 4 adults to travel to and from Harrah's/airport? If taxi, do they have van type taxi's where we can all fit? How long is the ride?

 

From the Port to Harrah's, is the trolley stops close enough on either end to take it or would a taxi be recommended?

Yes there are plenty of taxi suv's. vans that will fit 4 passengers. fare will be $56 without tip. one way. There is also shuttle service, with is more. Cheap route is the Jefferson Bus E 2 which is $2pp each way. You can walk a few blocks over to Poydras and take a city bus, look at schedule which one for $1.25 or you can walk across the street from the Jefferson stop and take the Loyola Streetcar- going in the left direction. Get off at Harrahs casino then walk a couple blocks to the hotel.

 

The cheap option, which I have done many times, including my August trip, must pack light and have no mobility limitations.

harrads to port is about a 20 min.walk or 8.00 for cab.
