Christmas cruise to Mexico

We are considering a Christmas cruise and I wonder about the weather. Weather.com says Cozumel average dec. temp is 81. Seems cool for water activities. What about on the ship? Is it cool on deck?

we have taken a few christmas cruises - 2 went to cozumel and costa maya - the weather was great - we spent the day in costa maya on a beach resort where it was hot and the water warm. Cozumel was shorts and t shirts - we did get a downpour of rain that lasted no more than a few minutes but ti did make the roads in cozumel slippery. Overall great weather was had - that was 2010 and 2011.

I have found the weather including the ocean to be warm. The humidity will also make it feel warmer.

Well, we always go in December and do a lot of beach activities. Remember, average means they combine high and low and divide. If the high is 85 and the low is 75 the average is 80!! Water temps are always in the high 70's and are plenty warm for swimming, snorkeling and scuba. Go enjoy.

If you live year round in a hot climate, such as Arizona, 81 isn't considered cool. We here in the north are in our swimming pools once it hits 70. Unless a December cold front comes that far south, it should be warm enough for water activities. We actually think that December and January are perfect months to cruise.

We haven't cruised to Mexico in December but have vacationed there several years in December. The ocean has always been very pleasant; often times warmer than the pools (even the heated pool at one resort). As far as the weather, it is mostly warm (not "hot" in my opinion), but we have had several days where we needed a long-sleeved shirt and have needed a wrap or sweater in the evenings. I would say it is warmer than that more often than not, though.
