Great review so far!
Thank you!

Thank you for doing this review. We sail the same itinerary Thanksgiving week. Reviews are helping me get through the wait.
No problem! Thank you for reading along! You will be sailing before you know it!

I was anticipating your review of the Liberty. We plan to sail on the Liberty in May. I really enjoy your reviews.
Awww, thanks! :o

Were you two in the night club on Caribbean music night? I believe it was Wednesday or Thursday night. I may have seen you
IDK, we went every night except the first. We probably sat in there for a bit both Wed and Thursday!

Glad you made your flight....that was close!! Looking forward to the rest of your review.
Yes it was. It sucked! Hopefully, next year we will be able to have out day before the cruise to travel! I can't go through that again lol!

You're not old! You had a lot of pressure in the AM so you deserved to be exhausted. I know that's how I felt the one time I flew in the day of the cruise.
Definitely!! I was a frazzled mess on the 14th lol!

We did this same itinerary on the Liberty a few years ago and loved it! We are trying the western route in March, and I hope it's as good!

I'm really enjoying your review so far. Can't wait to read the rest!

I will be the western itinerary in November and I will have a review of that too. Matter of fact, we did the exact same itinerary on the Legend too! The beaches on the western route are BEAUTIFUL!. The eastern beaches are pretty as well, but just in a different way! I can't even describe it!

Thank you so much for this review. We will be doing this same cruise Thanksgiving week! I'm excited about the ports, but I'm afraid my kids will be disappointed with the ship. They have been on the Dream twice and the Breeze in April. I like Conquest class, but I'm trying to prepare them. Hopefully Half Moon Cay will help ease any of their pain! LOL Thanks again and I am excited to see the rest!
I'm sure they will still love the Liberty and if not, I know they will definitely LOVE Half Moon Cay!!! No, they will love Liberty too!

I was on the same cruise!!! (Did you get sick too?)

Anyway, I went down to Guest Services and they had some tumblers left so we were able to trade!

Oh boy, what do you mean sick? Did you eat something bad?

I unfortunately have to answer, yes. I don't know what it was, but after HMC,DH got sick and then after Grand Turk, I started feeling bad. I think for us it was more sinus/cold issues. It was so hot on the islands and then freezing in some places on the boat. At least that's what I thought... I'm interested in hearing your symptoms. Matter of fact, I'm still sick.:(

You know what else, DH and I noticed that near the end of the of the cruise, Karl sounded a little stuffy and so did the Asst. Cruise Director.

Great review!! I remember reading your other reviews and they were very good also. Can't wait to read the rest of this one! I did this itinerary on the Liberty 2 years ago (before 2.0 upgrades) and had a great time too.:)
Thanks you! I'm glad you like reading the reviews! I should've did a review of our last September cruise, but I was so sad that I lost my camera and I didn't want to relive it.

Congratulations on becoming platinum. Looking forward to the day i cant take this picture
Thanks, I was so excited!

So glad that you were able to make your flight! I totally agree with you about Karl with a K...dude was AWESOME. He seemed to be everywhere and always seemed to have time for a quick chat. We sailed the Breeze this past August and while Butch was great in his own way, I didn't see him half as much as I saw Karl....but then again, maybe it's because the Breeze is a bigger ship(?). I really hate that Karl is retiring because he is so awesome at what he does.

Your husband reminds me so much of mine in that "I'm not asleep" picture. My husband does it all the time and even denies it when I show him photographic evidence. He says that he was just "blinking hard" or "resting his eyes"

Anyway, I'm loving your review! :D

PS...Congrats on the platinum stat....I hope to get there one day

Yeah, I was sad to hear about Karl retiring. I was hoping to sail with him on my next Liberty cruise. He said he was going to take about 8 months off. Hopefully, he will be back! I would book a ship based on him alone and I usually never care about who the CD is.

Dh always, always, says he was "thinking" when CLEARLY he is sleep lol. Men, gotta love them!

I wish you have warned me that your review was going to start off being funny, because I was drinking coffee and nearly choked when you said that "DH was not allowed to talk". I loved your review from last year (I think it was last year), and I'm loving this review already. Hurry and finish posting please.:D
LOL, I seriously told him not to talk to me lol. He obeyed it too! I'm glad you like my reviews, I have more coming up!

Great review! Can't wait for the rest.
Thanks! I'm getting to more review soon! Every time I try, a kid comes bugging me lol

Terrible cold/flu symptoms.

My little group all started feeling ill Grand Turk day as well. My DH did not get sick, but the rest of us did.

Many, many people on the Roll Call have said they're sick too. Missing work days, etc since returning.

Since hubby and I had been asleep since around 7:30 pm the previous day, we were up pretty early and ready for breakfast! One thing that I don’t like about inside rooms is that they are like caves. You have no idea if it’s day or night. My body seemed to always know when it was time to get up though, that and those thrusters that vibrate severely in the aft cabins lol. I think we got to HMC, a little before scheduled and I was aching to use my “platinum privileges" for tendering!

But first breakfast.....

WOW! We have the same exact symptoms. I couldn't even speak on Saturday :( I 've been awful since last Thursday and I'm still going though it .

Enjoying your review. I also remember reading other reviews by you.

I was exhausted by the time you got in the ship

Get well soon to all of you who got sick.. sounds like a nasty child was going around.

We sail the week before thanksgiving, got our flu shots yesterday...hoping to ward off any germies!

My best friend and I were on this cruise as well! We were the two crazy blondes that mostly hung out in the EA Sports Bar. If you stopped by there in the evening we were there, in fact, Raul (the best bartender/server on the ship!) kept our "table" for us :)

BTW, my friend and I also got sinus/colds right before the Grand Turk Day. Cindy actually visited the medical center... $227 later, she was all set with a zpac, cough syrup and sudafed... After coming home, I learned that most of Utah has this same thing going on, so I don't really think it was cruise specific, just bad luck.

Keep up your review, its fun to see what others did in comparison to what we did...

When we were ready to leave, we went to Guest Services and we were escorted to the elevator and straight onto the tender boat with no wait. Perfect, because the lines were still incredibly long. I love the ride over to the island! It is just so pretty.

Weird looking tree

When we got to the island, of course the Carnival photographers are waiting for you. They took a great pic of us and one candid shot of me, which I loved. I wonder who took that pic cause I had no idea it was being taken.

I love this little fountain

One stop at the bathroom and we were ready to find the perfect spot on the beach. I want to stop right here to say, make sure you be careful walking around, one lady tripped and fell really hard on the cement out there and I know she had to feel that the rest of the trip.

I love any ports that have these signs

We haven’t been to HMC in a few years and I've read about some of the changes on CC, like the pirate bar, those huge cabanas and the loud music. Sadly, I have to agree that they could have left all of those additions out. The island was definitely perfect the way it was.

This is not to say that we didn’t have a good time, we did, but the Pirate bar music was too darn LOUD! And speaking of loud, the only complaint and I guess it’s not really a complaint, but the only negative thing I have to say about the Liberty is that anytime there was an announcement over the loud speaker, that was extremely LOUD as well:eek:
