H/C pax boarding in LA for 4 day coastal

Could someone possible walk me thru the arrival and boarding of the Golden Princess for the Nov 7th cruise. I will be in my scooter and our DD will be in a wheelchair.

Where do we go and what can we expect? We are using the Princess transfer to the

pier and back to the airport LAX.

Do we need to know any procedures during the cruise that will make our life

easier? We will be staying in a Window Suite.

Any help u can offfer is greatly appreciated. We are a hard group to deal with.

You'll be taken care of. When you arrive at the terminal, porters will take your bags outside. There are greeters at the door and they will direct you and get you assistance. You'll be taken to a special check-in line and to the gangway. The wheelchair attendants in the terminal are not allowed to take you across the gangway and onto the ship. They will leave you at the gangway and ship's personnel will take over to assist you and take you to your cabin. Expect to tip for the assistance. Once you're in your cabin, there will be a packet which will give you information on which tours they recommend for you and other stuff. For disembarkation, you will fill out a form with your disembarkation preference. You'll either be picked up by ship's personnel or you're to make your way to a lounge designated for those requiring assistance.

 

The ship's crew is great for helping you. There will be assistance in the buffet, dining room, etc. Make sure your TA has notified Princess that you will need assistance.

You will love the Window Suite. It is very convenient to everything. On your floor will be the Main Dining Room for lunch on embarkation day. There is also the Customer Service Desk, Crown Grill, a couple of shops. The Maitre d' Hotel will probably assign you to one of the midship dining rooms (rather than Canaletto/aft).

 

The only down side is that you will need to use the elevator to get to the Princess Theater. Wheel Chair assessable seats are only on Deck 7.

 

You will reverse the process when you disembark (via Pam). You will have a Suite lounge to wait in.

At disembarkation, in order to get assistance off the ship, there is a special disembarkation area. It should be noted in the information but you can always call Guest Services to double-check. It will be on the deck where the gangway is. Going to the Suite, Elite, and Platinum disembarkation lounges probably would not be possible unless it is close by to the assistance area, if you need assistance off the ship.

I greatly appreciate the info you have shared. We have sailed before but not on Princess and look forward to it. We did not have a TA but booked directly with

Princess. We will watch for the help as we enter the termina.
