CruiserBruce Posted September 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2013 A little reading on the board would reveal: There are shuttles, but not free. Shuttles are the best way to do what you wish, but check on hours of operation. I imagine you can hang at the airport. There are hotels nearby. Returning to MIA to fly out is simply the reverse. Again, reading would reveal shuttle is the way to go here as well.
wallie5446 Posted September 29, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2013 Lots of cabs, private cars, busses, 15 pax vans, super shuttle type company's. I guess you could sleep in a chair in the airport:confused: Dozens of hotels. This is no different from all the other pre/post cruises you have sailed. JohninDC Posted September 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2013 1. Is there a shuttle ? American Shuttle is based inside of the MIA airport and will take you to PE or a FLL area hotel for about $40+ per person; the trip takes 45+ minutes.2. If we fly in late , can we hang at the airport until dawn? Yes -- but you cannot check in for your cruise until 11:00 AM or so; that sounds like lots of hanging around! :( 3. Is there a hotel near bye ? There is a hotel located inside the MIA airport - cleverly called the Miami Airport Hotel - and several nearby with free shuttles (check to see if the shuttles are operating when you arrive). Popular budget options include the La Quinta East and Comfort Suites North -- better hotels with a nearby shopping center for last minute cruise supplies are located near MIA in the Blue Lagoon area (Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, etc.). 4. What about coming back after the cruise... The cruiseline transfer bus is an expensive option; one way car rentals from the FLL area to MIA are another; American Shuttle or FLL based Go Airport or QLS are shuttle options; a taxi will run $85+ for the cab on the meter (a good deal if there are 3+ in your group); Larry's Limos has been suggested here often for Miami service -- a nicer ride for about what a cab will charge. Thank you.... Good luck and have a great cruise! :)
