Assateague Island Princes Posted October 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Saw in today's Anchorage Daily News that HAL is poised to purchase the McKinley Chalets property from Aramark. This 345 room/42 acre property is located next ot the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge in the "Glitter Gulch" area just outside the entrance to the beautiful Denali National Park. Great news for you Alaska fans who prefer cruisetours over independent touring in Alaska.
huskyguy Posted October 3, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2013 HAL has been using McKinley Chalets for their cruisetours for almost 25 years that I know of, so it's just a paper shuffle in practical terms.

So true - HAL's name and logo are already in large letters inside the hotel. Also, this sale has been known for well over a month now. No real "news" to report. Assateague Island Princes Posted October 4, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted October 4, 2013 Thank you both for the information. It was "news" to me - and I'm sure others who aren't familiar with the hotels used on cruisetours;).
Glaciers Posted October 4, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2013 Sounds as though it will allow HAL to put some money into the property for upgrades. That will be nice.
