New England/Canada on Summit

I'm getting a little frustrated with DH. I thought I had our itinerary (Caribbean) all planned out and ready to book, and he's thrown a wrench in wanting to go Alaska or New England/Canada. Ok, I knew he wasn't that interested in the caribbean so I guess I'm not surprised, but grrrr

We did Alaska last year so I'm thinking New England. The Summit has 2 different 14 day itineraries and I have no idea if one is better than the other. Which do you recommend and why?

I too will be interested in this reply, as I am looking at the same cruises for next year.

My choice would be to go in Oct, to get the best Fall colours.

However to wet your appetite, there is a daily Blog from a passenger on the late Sept sailing, (the 2nd itinerary )

As someone who has done this cruise 6 times since 2007, we are thinking of doing itinerary that goes to Port Saguenay as we have never been there before.

Both itineraries have have a port that we have not been to but we think we'd rather go to Saguenay then Newfoundland and we would rather go to St. Johns, NB than Sydney, NS.

My vote is for Saguenay as well.

I am biased though as I lived there for 2 years. In the fall it is absolutely beautiful in the area, and if you have the oportunity, the views as you sail the saguenay fjiord are amazing. If you stop there, do not forget to pick up some Boivin cheese curds! Best around and fresh daily! But there is so much else to see in the area, I would choose that itinerary just to go back for the day!

Whatever one you choose, have a great time! :D
