chrysalis Posted October 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2013 Charged to your shipboard account. Leaving a tip is up to you, but not required nor expected.

slomotion Posted October 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 6, 2013 When using Specialty Restaurants is this charged to your credit card or from your OBC? never did use it. how are tips handled. Everything you do is charged to your shipboard account. At the end of the cruise your OBC is deducted from your total and the balance is then charged to your credit card. Re: The tip The service is typically so great, I ALWAYS leave a CASH tip. We do the same for a tip...we keep the auto tip so the server gets to keep the cash tip instead of adding a tip to the bill which goes into to general tip pool. whataboutport Posted October 6, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 6, 2013 How much of a cash tip do you generally leave? Same as on land? So 20% of $50 is $10.
Treven Posted October 6, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 6, 2013 I always leave a cash tip of $20. As been posted, it's left in cash so the waiter gets to keep it all; if you write in a tip on the "bill", the tip goes into the pool and the waiter sees just a bit of it. I typically base it on my experience. I have left a $20 tip a couple of times because the experience was superb.:)
