disneybabe Posted October 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Do they still do horse drawn carriage rides in San Juan? I can only find very dated info. We don't get to port until 4:00 but would like to get off the ship for a short time especially since it is our first stop. Has anyone taken a carriage ride? Would it still be operating if it is getting dark? Is it close to the port? Thanks for any help.
Rare mking8288 Posted October 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2013 -¡Hola! si. (Yes) It's still running in Old San Juan - we saw it up the street from the Pier about 2 weeks ago while our Splendor docked there (3 PM.) We finished our own mini-bus tour around the area 5:15 or 5:30 PM and was dropped off at the mid-hill level with the vendor's market, headed back down toward the sideway cafe & shops/restaurants (where local Starbucks is located.) We paused for a freshly chopped coconut water from local vendor & the horse drawn carriage came down the cobblestone street - sorry, can' t help you with the rates. As you come off your ship & walk out of the pier, you might see them near/at the taxi stand or across the street by Senor Frogs or in front of the waterfront hotels - waiting for customers. cakerbakermom Posted October 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2013 Best part of the carriage ride, kids ride free! We will be there in a month, can't wait! We saw the carriages last November. Get off the ship, head to your left and that is where you will find them, at a little city square.
