wvufan Posted October 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2013 We went there last year. Swam out to the turtles. Had great cutters. Very convenient to get to. Everything was great...but. There was a venue which was playing music so loudly that it disrupted the whole atmosphere. We will go back there in a couple months if the blasting music is no longer the case. Thanks Happy Sails to You OOOEEE :D:D Bob and Phyl

Try going a little further away from the port if you are looking for a quieter atmosphere. Perhaps Mullins would give you what you are looking for. wvufan Posted October 14, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted October 14, 2013 Thanks for the tip. We really liked it there-particularly swimming out to the turtles, but the music was just too loud. Can you do that at Mullins? Happy Sails to You OOOEEE :D:D Bob and Phyl

Can you do that at Mullins? Happy Sails to You OOOEEE :D:D Bob and Phyl Good question. I know that boat operators go to Paynes beach and take people out the short distance to swim with the turtles there. Mullins is close to Paynes so the boat trip would be short but I am not certain if any boat owners frequent Mullins looking for people who want to go and swim with the turtles. Perhaps someone here will now the answer to this question.:)
aimodels Posted October 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2013 The last time we were at Mullins (3 years ago) there were a couple of local guys with boats taking folks out to the turtles. Not sure about now... Cheers, P:)
kteachcruiser52 Posted October 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 24, 2013 try Harbor Lights which is also on Carlsie, but farther down the beach. There is The Boatyard, Lobster Alive, and then Harbor Lights. They all have websites.
wvufan Posted November 8, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted November 8, 2013 We were in the Harbor Lights area (got great cutters there) but the music was still blaring from way down the beach. Maybe it was a special occasion of some sort. Thanks to all for your feedback. OOOEEE :D:D Bob and Phyl
gerryl12 Posted December 5, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 5, 2013 We were at Carlisle Beach two weeks ago and didn't have any loud music (which I hate at the beach).

Rare Hlitner Posted December 20, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 20, 2013 We were at Carlisle about 12 days ago and had a wonderful day. Since we had our own snorkel gear we simply swam out from the beach to the area where there are many sea turtles. This is where all the tour boats bring their passengers (who pay lots of money) but for those who are comfortable swimming some distance can easily get to the area for free. There was no loud music (or any music) on the beach during our visit. As to Boatyard, folks should be aware that Carlisle is actually on the same beach as Boatyard...but there is no admission fee. At Carlisle you can rent 2 chairs plus umbrella for no more then $20 (you might get them down to $15) and there is a nice restaurant complex with food, booze, and rest rooms. There are several beach hang-out places along the length of Carlisle Bay, these days.Boatyard is merely one of them! See the skinny pier at right, with the white blob on its end jutting out into the turquoise waters? -That's Boatyard's pier. This satellite view shows the Port where your ship docks (upper left) and the part of Carlisle Bay you're most likely to visit (Boatyard, Lobster Alive, Harbour Lights) __________________________ THIS is a wider view below shows the whole Bridgetown area from the Port right down to HILTON on the point, at lower right . Hank Hi Hank ,would you mind telling me where on Carlisle we should be dropped off to be closest to the area where you can swim out to the turtles ourselves? We all have fins and vests so figured we would just wait till we see the catamaran tours and gead out towards them.Would Harbour lights be a good place to be let off? Thanks for your help. Susan:)
