Boarding times

I'm on Coral Princess out of Fort Lauderdale in January for a Panama Canal itinerary. What time does embarkation start? Is lunch served? If so, in what venues and until what time?

Thanks!

Arrive to the pier around 10:30 to 11:00. Check in starts around 11:00. Once checked in you will be directed to a waiting area. Boarding starts with priority boarders around noon then general boarding. Once boarded go directly to your cabin, drop your luggage and set out to eat, explore or just sit around the pool.

The Coral has two MDR's mid ship, the Provence on Deck 6 and the Bordeaux on deck 5. One of these should be open from noon to 1:30 on boarding day. Other free dining will be, The International Cafe on deck 6, The Horizon Ct. Buffet, The Princess Pizzeria and The Ice Cream Bar on the Lido deck, deck 14, and the Grill on the Sun Deck 15. The International Cafe is one of our favorite locations, but has limited seating on the Coral. The Grill has burgers, dogs, brats, chicken, fries, veggie burgers. You eat at a deck table outside. It's nice.

Are the cabins generally available right away? I've been cruising Celebrity lately, and their cabins are usually not available until after 1-2pm, which is a pain since it means you have to lug your carry-ons with you until the cabins are available.

Yes. Drop your carry on and place you valuables into the cabin safe. This is one of the things we like about Princess. However, sometimes a few amenities could be missing, as the cabin steward hasn't received their new supplies. This happens mostly when the ship just completed and extended voyage. The steward will complete the set up during the afternoon. If you wish to have a robe, ask the steward. They normally don't place them into the cabins unless you ask. Also, regarding the muster drill, Princess musters in the lounges on deck 7 and not on the open decks. Carry, don't wear your life jacket to the drill. You will be instructed how to wear it at the drill. Arrive 5 to 10 mins early if you want a seat.
