Any thoughts on the Atlantis Excursion?? People say do it and others say its not worth the money?? I have a 15 and 12 year old and I am sure they will enjoy it. However, I know its very costly. Help!

We have done it one time. We really enjoyed it. It is costly, as a sideline when there, I purchased a large bottle of water and think it was $15.

Food and drink is expensive.. we reverse smuggled our drinks :) and wound up grabbing a sammich and I think two rounds from the bar and it was very pricey(cant remember exactly)

We did it on Royal Caribbean with our kids and they loved it!! You need a good amount of time, it's HUGE and our excursion included lunch (thank goodness)

I stayed there this summer and the water park is absolutely worth doing! I would not pay for an aquarium tour since you can walk it on your own for free. We did not do any sting ray or dolphin tours, but I heard they were great too.

We are there from 11-7 that day so could be worth it? Want the waterpark more than anything. I have heard people book a room at a resort next door n get passes included but don't actually use the room?? Said it was way cheaper too? So I don't know now!! Those of you that have gone, did you book with ship or private tour?

It really depends on what you are going to Atlantis for. Personally I would not spend that kind of money on an excursion there. If the kids mostly just want the beach and swimming, here's what I would do: Depending on when you get in - if it is an early am stop, I would suggest you either walk or take a taxi over to Paradise Island which is where Atlantis is. Before 9 am you can go through the Aquarium for free. So if your kids mostly just want to see the fish that would be a good option. After that you can just go to the beach - cabbage beach is right there and is one of the nicest beaches I have ever been to. After the beach, you can take a water taxi back to the port which is fun. Before you get to the area that has the water taxi, there is a beautiful area you will walk by which has little shops and has a great ice cream store. That's always a great way to end the day:)

We don't get into Nassau until 11am so most likely 12 by time we get off the ship and in December Atlantis waterpark will close at 4pm according to local information so it's just not worth it for me. :( Disappointed though as I really wanted to but the cost isn't justified for the time we're going to have there

My DH and I did the water park and loved it. We took our kids on our next cruise however did not have enough time there or would have done it again. I think your kids will enjoy it. As far as food yes it is pricey at the park but with the time you get there maybe you can do breakfast and lunch on the ship. So only a small snack at the park. I think any park food prices are high.

We booked through the ship, it was expensive but worth it to us to have the transportation to and from the cruise ship terminal (you have to take a boat to get there) as well as have a meal provided.
