Beach in Barbados

Going on my first cruise ever November 10, 2013 on Carnival Valor, South Caribbean route. Trying to research the ship, the ports, excursions... so much info looks like my head will explode soon lol. :eek: Sorry if someone asked this question before.

 

**** What would be the best beach to go to with kids and how to get there? Looking for calm waters with snorkeling opportunity .I've read that the beaches in Barbados could be dangerous due to rip currents and strong waves.

The beaches along Carlisle Bay are nice and fairly close to the cruise terminal. :)

We just walk across the street from the cruise ship terminal and then go to your left and there will be nice beaches on the right hand side as you begin to walk to town.

With all of the beautiful beaches in Barbados OP like Mullins, Payne, and (further down) Carlisle beach to name a few. A beach in easy walking distance between the port and the city of Bridgetown would not be my recommendation.
