Kaban Posted October 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Going on my first cruise ever November 10, 2013 on Carnival Valor, South Caribbean route. Trying to research the ship, the ports, excursions... so much info looks like my head will explode soon lol. Sorry if someone asked this question before. **** What would be the best beach to go to with kids and how to get there? Looking for calm waters with snorkeling opportunity .I've read that the beaches in Barbados could be dangerous due to rip currents and strong waves. Thank you! With less than two weeks to go, you must be excited! There are many threads here on the subject of beaches, but here are a couple of outside resources that provide a pretty decent summary of what's available: http://www.mybarbados.org/barbados/info_htm/barbados_beaches.htm http://www.funbarbados.com/barbados_beaches/picks/snorkelling_beaches.cfm I hope you have a super time! OCruisers Posted November 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2013 Welcome to Cruise Critic! The beaches along Carlisle Bay are nice and fairly close to the cruise terminal. :) LuLu ~~~~
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2013 We just walk across the street from the cruise ship terminal and then go to your left and there will be nice beaches on the right hand side as you begin to walk to town. Have a great time. Keith

Have a great time. Keith With all of the beautiful beaches in Barbados OP like Mullins, Payne, and (further down) Carlisle beach to name a few. A beach in easy walking distance between the port and the city of Bridgetown would not be my recommendation.
