why2klisa Posted November 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2013 Hello all, I heard there has been changes made to the RCCL Visa points program. I have a cruise coming up soon and applied some of my points to an onboard credit for that sailing. My question is.. can I still use those points towards anything I want on the cruise? Typically we will take cash off our account to use in the casino. Will we still be able to do that? Thanks in advance! Lisa
vafatboy Posted November 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2013 In March we could. I hope it has not changed since then. I just put 500 on my Dec 1 cruise.
molly361 Posted November 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2013 Yes they can be used for all onboard purchases. You can take cash out at the casino but they charge 5% service fee. You can take any leftover refundable OBC out the last day of the cruise as GS
Arizona Cruz Chic Posted November 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2013 Using your visa points for OBC, then turning around and taking $$ out at the casino and then being charged 5% doesn't quite right! I am still trying to decide if we will use our points as $$$ off, or OBC. It will depend on what cruise we book and the total cost. ***

The dollar value in those two examples is the same. Edited November 10, 2013 by cruiseguy1016

OBC or $$$ off have the same value, but if you use it as OBC and then take $$$ out at the casino, they are charging you 5% to use your own money. ***

Do you still have to call RCCL to make sure it there? You still must call to confirm they uave been posted. They will email you a statement of your account and they will be listed. Be sure to include your reservation number in the comments section when you redeem. I am told that ensures proper posting and speeds up the process Sent from my SCH-I545 using Forums mobile app
