guaranteed cabin allocation

We booked our January cruise on a guaranteed basis. The cruise is now fully booked and past the final payment date.

Are Princess likely to now allocate the cabins or could we still have a last minute wait?

Your guess is as good as ours. It could be today or at the pier. There's no way to know ahead of time.

I was in "panic mode" once over something very similar. I booked inside guarantee on Allure of the Seas, and didn't get room allocation until 3 days before the cruise. When they notified us of our cabin number, it was a balcony.

You won't be standing in port, waving the ship good bye.

Yes, that's what we've been told too. I guess you have to experience this whole process before really trusting it.

And none of it would bother me if I'd booked the lowest grade cabin. But you know what my fear is? We'll get there and they will give us an inside and tell us it's that or nothing, but we've booked a balcony. Needless to say if that happens then CC will know all about it.

It's funny with cruises. We never bother doing this with Hotels!
