pflorio994 Posted November 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2013 We are currently on the prestige supposedly from trier to bam erg. We had to board the ship in bernkastel this past Sunday instead of trier because of high water. Now it is Wednesday and we are still in bernkastel being bussed to and from the cities. Rare franski Posted November 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) We are currently on the prestige supposedly from trier to bam erg. We had to board the ship in bernkastel this past Sunday instead of trier because of high water. Now it is Wednesday and we are still in bernkastel being bussed to and from the cities. That's really too bad.... Didn't realize there are water issues at this time. Fran Edited November 14, 2013 by franski
Rare notamermaid Posted November 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2013 Hello pflorio994, I do not understand what happened! There are no flood warnings in the news. Trier had high levels at the weekend, but the Moselle is fine now. The flood warning station in Trier isn't even in operation at the moment (these emergency centre are staffed when water levels reach a certain height). Look at this website: http://www.hochwasser-rlp.de/karte/uebersicht/flussgebiet/mosel Green dots mean no issues that have to be reported, water levels at a mean level. Roughly speaking. Perhaps problems with locks? Or was Viking overcautious? But, according to marinetraffic, you are now in Mainz, hopefully having sailed savely through the night and enjoying breakfast and the scenery. Hope you have a great time on the Main, the Frankfurt stretch is a treat, have not experienced the canal yet. notamermaid
