Rare richstowe Posted November 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2013 Ridiculous Prices I was looking for a short cruise for my folks out of Southern Florida pre-holidays. I came across a bunch of crazy cheap deals. As an example Norwegian Sky Dec 9, OV 4 days for $139 with some OBC. The teachers rate brings it down to 119 or with a balcony for $219 The crazy part is 3rd and 4th passengers are FREE. I realize port fees must be paid but still... Is this normal for NCL ? Doing at little math that come to $15 a day pre-gratuity and fees. And then there's the OBC. I get that empty cabins don't buy drinks but at what point is low too low. I know it sounds like I'm complaining and I apologise for that.

Now to the OP why not splurge at little while the rates are low and really upgrade the folks to something special? My son is good to me, but sometimes I wish he wasn't quite so cheap. sanger727 Posted November 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2013 That is crazy... Although, when you do a fake booking they add in $400 (for 4 people) in port fees and taxes, so not quite as good a deal as it sounds like. But guess when it's 3-4 weeks out, $100-$200 for a room is better than an empty room.

Cubechick Posted November 14, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2013 It's a very slow time of year. Coupled with the current promotion, the prices make sense to me. :)

NMLady Posted November 14, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 14, 2013 You don't have to be in Florida to get those prices. There up on NCL's site ... True, but if you're not in FL, adding in airfare, or gas, changes the bargain.

That fisrt week of Dec is typically cheaper for all vacations (not just cruises) because it is inbetween holidays. (I literally just read that in my Conde Naste Travel magazine) Did you book it?????? I liked the Sky...Not my favorite NCL ship but we had a blast. Cruise was WAY too short though. Edited November 14, 2013 by halos

YOu beat me to it, that is exactly what I was going to say!! I really would love to move to fl and take advantage of W. Carib cruises as I hate to fly and they don't do W. Carib anylonger out of NYC.
