1st suite on NCL, quick question....

Hi,

We have a Penthouse suite booked for an upcoming cruise. I printed my edocs tonight and noticed that it states the room number, but doesn't say anywhere on the doc that we are in a suite. Does it usually? If not, how do the pier representatives know that we qualify for suite check-in?

As soon as you enter the embarkation hall, go speak to the first representative you see, and have them direct you to the appropriate check-in person. Usually that person is holding a clipboard and standing at a special entry point. That is the person who will check your name against their manifest, and then direct you into the express line for security. Once through security, another host will direct you to the correct check-in area, and you'll be in the concierge lounge within a very short period of time.

Enjoy the suite life!

About a month before your trip NCL will send luggage tags in the mail. They only send luggage tags to suite passengers. On the luggage tag from NCL it will say PRIORITY on the tags. You didn't say when your sailing. If your close to sailing and you booked through a TA, contact the TA. NCL will send the luggage tags to the TA and the TA should mail them to you. The tags let the porters know your bags are to go to a suite. After you give your luggage to the porters you then go to the suite check in line. Enjoy your Penthouse!

Make sure you are directed to the concierge waiting area. The agents kept telling us we were gold latitude members. We kept telling them we were cruising in a suite. We would not take no for an answer. Once in the lounge, wow.

We have always had to tell the first representative that checked our cabin number, that we in fact in a suite. Once that was settled we have always been well taken care of.

If your cabin number begins with an "S" you are in a suite. It does not have to spell out "SUITE". Just go to VIP checkin. You are on the list.

Cabin number doesn't have an S in it. The cabin category does. ;)

ETA:

I just double checked my own edocs. They do not indicate "suite" any where, but as others have stated, our cabin will be on the list at suite check-in.

Thanks everyone....I did panic for a moment when I realized there was no "S". I just wanted to double check as I seem to remember RC's paperwork indicating "Suite".

Thanks! Can't wait, we cruise in just 30 days!

I am so sorry. I did not mean to worry you. Did not mean to say room number but rather type of room. S and mumber is haven, S and letter is suite-non haven, M is mini, etc. duh. I feel

Stupid tonight.

We have cruised out of Miami and New Orleans always in a Suite and have never seen the person with the clipboard until after security. We have had to stay in the large weave line until we went through security scan then found the Suite area. Have we missed something or is this the way it is done at other ports?

It's the same process in NY port.

Couple of recent ports for us:

Boston: gave luggage to porters downstairs, went upstairs, through security and lady there with clipboard who took us to correct line.

Seattle: took luggage to luggage carts where a couple folks loaded them onto big carts. Separate table with a couple ladies to the right of the luggage area. She gathered us as a group and took us to front of line for security then led us up to suite check in area where we actually sat while they checked us in.

The priority line for suites at security in NY is on the far right. There will be a person with a clipboard there, too. ;)

This has also been our experience at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal. Occasionally if you arrive early the person directing you to the suite security line is not there yet but by 10:30 they are and will direct you to the front of the security lines via the right hand VIP/Suite line.

That has been our experience each time in NY. Always to the far right, and always with a cordoned-off line that goes directly to the security check-in. We have, each time, arrived at the security check and watched as they stopped the other line, allowed us through, and then returned to screening guests from the main line.

I am not sure if this is the case at every embarkation port, but before I went and stood in ANY line, I would have a good look around, and then check with the reps at the entrance to the hall, and make 100% sure that there was or was not a special line through security.

I've had trouble out of NYC with them not recognizing I am in a suite. Got all the way to the regular check in and when they realized they could not give me key cards is when I was escorted to the Suite waiting room (with the nibbles).

Didn't matter how many times I said I was in a suite or in a Penthouse.

Will try it all again in 20 days when out of NY I'm in another aft facing suite (Penthouse).

When you enter the embarkation hall and see the large snaking cattle-run setup, look all the way to the right of it. There you will see a long straight run set up next to the other one. At the head of it will be a rep with a clipboard. Go directly to that person, give her your name and stateroom number, and enjoy the process the way it's supposed to be. ;)

Have a great cruise! :)
