Miracle question

We have the 4K booked room 4196. It is right between the lifeboats. TheTA will give me a balcony for $35 more but the room is 4196 which is in the back of the ship and above the dining room. Not sure I like that. Any thoughts on what route I should go?

Thanks

I prefer to go cheap and get an Interior but can only do that when DH isn't with me :). Now that he's has a balcony, he won't even do an OV. Soooo, on our cruise on the Miracle in October I booked an obstructed balcony (7A). At the time I booked, cabin 5236 with the LONG balcony was available, we took it and LOVED it. The only view that was obstructed was if you looked straight down! The cabin is just outside of the aft elevators...3 decks down to the dining room & casino and 4 decks up to the Lido buffet and aft Serenity deck/bar. We loved it so much that we booked the same cruise and same cabin for next year :).

I think I only seen the main Lido pool once when I went to get food!

We love this ship, perfect size for us and the Serenity deck is wonderful!

Thanks.. My hubby to go cheap this time because we have been to the Mexican Riviera so many times. The TA said I can get an inside for $200 less than what I am paying for my 4K. May go that route instead.

4-Ks are $1.50 per person more per day than a 4-D interior cabin. $200 sounds wrong to me, have you checked pricing yourself on line at Carnival's site?

Above or below the dining room is the most perfect location you can imagine. It is completely empty all night long. Even when it's being used, you can't hear much if anything. I've been below the dining room 3 times, and still have yet to hear anything.

The price difference of $200 to go down to an interior sounds a bit much to me, plus only $35 to go up to a balcony sounds too small. If regular interiors have dropped in price, the 4Ks should have dropped some as well. And if you are before final payment, which I assume you are, you should be able to match prices and get your 4K rate dropped. That might be the thing for you to do. TAs sometimes don't like to give you price drops on your current room, so you might need to press them to do it. But first, check Carnival's website to see what the current rate is for a 4K on your sailing. If they are sold out, then that would explain why you can't get your rate dropped. However, they probably are not sold out, and if the rate is lower than where you're at (and it probably is), tell the TA to adjust your rate down to the current rate.
