Penny Slots Posted November 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2013 We will be sailing on The Rhapsody of the Seas, departing from Seattle (Friday, June 20 - Friday, June 27, 2014). We need to travel to Victoria on the 27th for a wedding on the 28th; what is the most convenient way to get from Seattle to Victoria? Thank you in advance for your responses. Rare 1025cruise Posted November 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2013 That itinerary brings you to Victoria the day before you disembark. Why not contact Royal Caribbean and see if they will just let you disembark that day instead?

That's certainly an option - and we may very well have to do that if it's not convenient to transfer at the end of the cruise.
Rare 1025cruise Posted November 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2013 I think there is a ferry that runs to Victoria from Seattle, but really, just getting off in Victoria makes the most sense. You won't be violating PVSA doing so, but you need permission first.
Cruise_More_Often Posted November 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2013 (edited) The Victoria Clipper is the ferry you need (here's the link). On the day your cruise arrives in Seattle, there are three ferries leaving for Victoria. We've taken the Clipper, and it's a beautiful trip. That way you won't have to miss out on the last night of your already-paid-for cruise, and you won't have to spring for another night's hotel in Victoria. Putterdude Posted November 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 24, 2013 Disembarkation is not unusual in Victoria and that may well prove to be your best option, you really are not going to see much sailing from Victoria to Seattle at night. However, you will need to set it up with your cruise line as there is a customs procedure that must happen in Victoria. The next best option would likely be the Victoria Clipper that provides a very scenic ride through Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands. http://www.clippervacations.com/

I'd arranged to disembark in Victoria the night before. Getting back on board merely to then transfer back to Victoria (and none of the options are particularly inexpensive), is a lot of time for not a lot of reward in my mind. Your other options are: flying - Horizon air is a good choice if you have Alaska Miles, but this is from SEA to YYJ which is a hassle. Kenmore Air offers direct flights from Lake Union to Inner Harbour, but very expensive. ferry -- the other ferries that service Victoria are from Vancouver, Port Angeles, and the Anacortes ferry. All of these are a hassle without a car. So really, unless you find a deal on Kenmore Air, the Clipper really is the way to go.
