Never sailed HAL

We had an incredibly good trip on the Ryndam leaving from Barcelona and traversing the Mediterranean. Expect more Spanish passengers on these HAL routes and dual language offerings if your trip leaves from Barcelona - one of Europe's great cities and favorite ports for docking if you get the one close in.

Ryndam is a smaller older ship so not sure what comparisons you want. Best thing about smaller ships is they can get into the older docking spots still which are often more convenient for on and off.

Please do tell us about your expected itinerary and hope it includes Valetta, Malta - our all time favorite Mediterranean port.

Any thoughts on the Ryndam, Greek Islands trip, Sept 2014?
We liked the Ryndam and loved our East Med cruise. What else is there to say?

But not always. In Barcelona on the Prinsendam we were not at the World Trade Center, but there was a free shuttle over to there. Edited by catl331

Good warning. Just because they can get into the older docks does not mean automatically they will get in. We were on the same Prinsendam - can't remember who got the good seats that day because sadly we did not, tiny as we were. I think there were four or five others ships in port Sept 16, 2013.

On our first day (5/1/13) we were the only cruise ship, but large Celebrity and MSC ships arrived the next day. IIRC neither of them got the WTC either.
