Top Tips to Lose FAT fast!!

Hello,

I'm going on a voyager cruise to NZ on 7 December, and I'm not taking short cuts, but I really want to look and feel my best (all that tempting food... oh gawwd)

Anyway, I have 11 days (including today) I am planning on eating 1200 calories for the next 10 days, and burning approx 800 cals/day at the gym/workout classes.

Today, I did 30 mins of kickboxing, 50 mins weight training, and 1 hour of walking. I only had 80 cals of skim milk and for some reason not feeling hungry at all (because I binged yesturday) :(

I would appreciate tips for fat loss and muscle maintenance! I only have 10 days left as of tomorrow and really want to feel good! :)

I am hoping to lose 1.5kg..

Should I still drink a lot of water because doesn't water make you bloated??

Green tea?? Apple cider vinegar?? How much/day?

Thank you!!

Breathe in, Breathe out relax.

Cutting your calories that heavily and upping your exercise levels that much is going to seriously mess with your mood, energy levels and general well being. You might lose weight, you might upset your metabolism for a long time, but you will feel like **** and nobody needs that.

For a 11 day-plan do the following (to lose weight and keep your mood):

If you drink soda's or sugary drinks, instead drink tea and water. If you feel you need a little more sugar, add in a little bit of honey in your tea or drink a small bit of lemonade. Please do not add any sugar if you can help it.

If you have snacking urges, make sure you have a 10 day plan of healthy snacks for yourself. Carrots, a few raisins, a small handful of nuts, cucumber etc. Everything crunchy and healthy will help you beat that snack-moment. If you never snack, skip this step.

Make lean meals and do portion control. Opt for healthy salads, stir fry with only a bit of noodles or rice, fish instead of meat etc. If you don't make your own food, do portion control. If you tend to eat a lot at dinner time, make sure you eat around 20% less then you normally eat, this is usually enough cut back to lose weight.

For exercise: make a sustainable routine. Preferable is 3-5 times a week of cardio (30 minutes) and weight training (60 mins). Be sure to switch muscle groups and machines. On the "off" days practice pilates, yoga or walk so you exercise your muscles while giving them time to heal.

Remember, a sustainable routine that you can keep up 10 days is better then going overboard 2 days, then hurting for 5 and then repeating that cycle.

All in all, enjoy your cruise, you are perfect the way you are!

My tip would be to see a psychiatrist, that seems to be the only way to for you to feel good about yourself.

Kind of agree. If 3lbs is the difference between feeling good and not, might want to look elsewhere than a mirror...

Athena.delta,

Please please talk to someone who is in your life and you trust about how you are feeling. In addition you should go and see your doctor and talk to them about your diet issues; I know that they would want to help.

You know you need help to feel better about yourself and you CAN feel better but you need the help of people closer to you.

Very best wishes,

Karen

Athena Delta,

At the moment you are starving your body therefore it is storing fat and depleting muscle; the opposite of what you are aiming for.

I know you want the best body you can for the upcoming cruise, but also look at it in the long term. That is how you get the body you want.

For the upcoming cruise make sure you are eating a minimum of 1200 cal (make 1500 your max if you wish) a day and that it is very well ballanced. 1g Protien for each lb and plenty of both fats and carbs as your body has been starved.

Cut your exercise down. I would recommend you continue walking daily, looking for an average pace of about 4mph; intervals of 4min @3.5 1min @4.5 for 30-40 min, and just doing the weight training 30 min every other day.

This should be enough to help your body re adjust and start building muscle.

From what I have read about you, you have taken yourself to what is called skinny fat by going to the extremes of both diet and exercise. No body will develop good muscle tone if it isn't fed correctly.

Work hard but be sensible.

cheers, h.

Hi Athena Delta

I am in Victoria.

Click on my email adress below. Maybe we can email about the problems you have been posting about. I am quite a lot (a few decades) older than you but would be happy to talk about your concerns for your cruise on the 7th. I will not be offended if you don't.

I will be going to bed at 2am.

Cheers, h.

There are so many things wrong with what you are doing that I don't know where to begin. You are doing damage to your metabolism. This won't help you lose weight, it will hinder you.

Drink 12 cups of water daily. More if you are sweating a lot during exercise.

Walk a few miles a day, and strength train OR kickbox every other day. Practice yoga as often as you would like, up to an hour a day.

Eat a minimum of 1200 calories a day AFTER you eat back exercise calories--in other words if you are burning 800 calories you need to eat 2000. Make them good, smart calories with whole grains, lean proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables.

You will not make much of a change in 11 days no matter what you do, so just chill and think of this as a long term path to good health instead of getting frustrated by trying to achieve the impossible.

Autocorrect responsible for most typos...

Here's a novel idea-how about doing nothing but eating a regular healthy diet and exercising moderately? Nobody on the ship is going to care what you look like-if your fat or thin.

Seriously-you want to look good and feel good? Even if your lose the weight by the trip (which I really doubt you will) it all begins in the mind. If you lose the weight and tell yourself you look like a big fat pig, then in your mind you will always be a big fat pig no matter how thin you are.

There's the reality check and I just saved you a bunch of money going to a psychiatrist.

  • 2 weeks later...

I think it's great you were trying to lose a bit of weight but in hindsight maybe next time start earlier so you don't have to stress so much and it can be done in a safer way. I'm sure many other people have been in the same boat lol.

I think you'd be able to lose 2kg with what you're doing and I don't think you need a psychiatrist!

Let us know how you went!

Whoa - I have to respectfully disagree. You need to read the other 6 threads started from the OP on this issue alone. It's clear she needs to speak to someone about this and in my opinion to suggest otherwise is really irresponsible.

I read the first thread and noticed there was a lot of focus on what a guy likes. Seriously? Consider this-look at Spanish television..those women are nowhere near pencil thin..they are ample and curvy and aren't afraid to flaunt it. Many African and Caribbean counties adore women with meat on their bones. If a guy is that concerned about how you look by how much you weigh, he'll pony up the money for plastic surgery and save you the hassle. Who would WANT to be with a guy like that anyway??

I think most men like women who are healthy. PERIOD. If your worried about how your going to look on the ship think of it this way: everyone will either gawk at the anorexic beach bunny in the bikini or the woman who is morbidly obese and has no business wearing one. Your probably in the middle so nobody is going to look at you anyway.

Do the right and healthy thing.
