BosoxI Posted December 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) We will be disembarking from one Celebrity ship and boarding a second Celebrity ship on the same day. How far is the nearest shop and how would I get there? (This is a very important question:p:p) If it's reasonably close, can I walk it? Thankssssh Edited December 5, 2013 by BosoxI
raftermanfl Posted December 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2013 there is a Total Wine just outside of port on 17th st. Best place to go by far!
Rare cruisestitch Posted December 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Not sure they would let you walk through the port area though.
raftermanfl Posted December 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2013 walking is probably not doable, but a very short cab ride
koolforkatz Posted December 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2013 We've done this before - you will definitely have to take a cab. LOVE Total Wine - you can actually pre-order everything online and then just run in the store to pick it all up. Great service!
RickT Posted December 5, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) Here is the link to the Total Wine closest to the pier. http://www.totalwine.com/eng/storeLocator/redirect.cfm?sectionID=b2c/storeLocator/storeDetails.cfm&storeid=1&locationId=17771&searchAgainLink=/eng/storeLocator/redirect.cfm?sectionID=b2c/storeLocator/storeLocator.cfm&var=d&ckey=US And here it is on a map. Not too far but probably too far plus the security you need to go through. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=total+wine+fort+lauderdale&ll=26.093326,-80.119042&spn=0.031604,0.066047&oe=utf-8&fb=1&hq=total+wine&hnear=Fort+Lauderdale,+Broward,+Florida&t=m&fll=26.091167,-80.12754&fspn=0.031604,0.066047&z=15 Edited December 5, 2013 by RickT
BosoxI Posted December 5, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted December 5, 2013 Thanks to all of you. I thought I had read on CC that there was a TW nearby, but with no need, I paid no heed. Now it's different. I don't think walking would be desirable even if I could, having seen the bus traffic.

LOL -- my problem is that, I can't ever just "run in" to a Total Wines-n-More! I'd just have to have the cabbie come back for me, in about an hour. :D

Wine-O Posted December 6, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 6, 2013 If it's a Sunday, I understand they don't sell/open until after Noon.
