Rare LHT28 Posted December 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Best to ask on the Princess forum http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Gunner22aa Posted December 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Yes there is an extra charge. The cost is $25/person. If your ship has the Crab Shack it is $20. You pay for purchases on board. All alcoholic drinks, speciality coffees, bingo, gambelling, photos, some specialized exercise chasses, the spa, beauty salon and some other craft type activities have a materials charge like scrapbooking. 5326jan Posted December 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2013 The Pacific Princess alternates specialty restaurants in the same space. The cost is $25 per person regardless of whether Sabatinis or Steakhouse. The only additional costs beyond fare would be gratuities of about $12/per day/per person. You can tip beyond this amount in cash to your steward, waiter or any other person you would like. The regular gratuities are added to your account payable at the end of the cruise. That amount is divided among many of the crew that make your stay comfortable, some you may never see. You can run up a myriad of charges from bar, casino, shore excursions, on board purchases in the stores, etc. You have many "included" food options including main dining room, Horizon Court, pizzaria, Lido Grill, ice cream, room service, etc. If you order a whole pizza to your room through room service the cost is about $3. (My understanding is that this was added to cut down on waste.) Princess has many ways that you can get On Board Credit, which helps offset the costs of the gratuities and other expense you put on your account. For instance, if you were in the military, you can get on board credit. Also, if you own 100 shares of Carnival Cruises Corp stock you get OBC. Your travel agent can give you OBC or you can get OBC as part of a promotion to purchase your cruise. On a long cruise (14 days or longer) we usually get about $800 in OBC.
