Either or Neither???

NEITHER...UGLY...TACKY....YUCK

(Just like fanny packs and gold chains.)

Well then, I'm double TACKY. I wear my card on a lanyard, punched and get it at the casino each cruise. It looks good around my neck, especially with my suit and tie on "cruise elegant nights." LOL I also wear a fanny pack when leaving the ship in port. Carry mine and DW's passports, cigarettes & lighter, sunscreen, any important items, etc.

So sorry Tapi. I did not mean to insult you.

I should have been more specific. Again...my apologies.

No worries, and thanks for the clarification! :)

I'm part of the ugly, tacky crowd as my hole punch is in my fanny pack and my lanyard is around my neck. I punch the hole as soon as I get the card and I never have to look for it or hope I have pockets.

When my son was about 11 y/o, he put his card in his pocket and lost it twice in one day! Once I put it on a lanyard, he never lost it again.

Lol Funny post

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If the poster that does not like lanyards and fanny packs, then so be it. Her opinion. I personally do not care for them either. This is what makes the world go round. If we were all the same, life would be very boring.

I have read many, many times, that foreigners always know the Americans by the very white sneakers/tennis shoes they wear. Never realized this. Yes, I still wear my white sneakers..lol:o

So sorry Tapi. I did not mean to insult you. This is not what I was referring to. I meant those thick gold chains that men wear with their "wife beaters" or open shirts down to their belly buttons. (very popular in NYC). I, myself wear a cross on a gold chain. I should have been more specific. Again...my apologies.

There you go stereotyping again.

I keep my S&S in a wristlet. I wish they'd move to a bracelet system like Disney properties are moving to, and Great Wolf Lodge already uses.

In my world I own my husband's pockets. Lipstick, phone, cards, whatever ; -) It's Himself's job to keep track of that stuff!!

If I am not with him I resort to my own pockets or a small hand bag... Or I forget...

I like the free one from the casino. I can wrapt it around my wrist a couple of times and wear it like a bracelet.

To the poster that said to wear neither because it was tacky and compared it to gold chains and fanny packs, :p a big raspberry to you. The only thing tacky is you saying that. There are many people that wear fanny packs for medical reasons.

Absolutely to each their own...but I don't like lanyards. I just don't like anything around my neck unless it's a necklace, and even then, it's awkward because I just don't wear them much. I have a small cross-body bag I use on the ship. It's just big enough to hold my camera (small point and shoot), lipgloss/chapstick, ship map, sunglasses and my S&S card. For excursions, I can take the strap off the bag and toss it in my tote bag or backpack. Hubby carries his in one of his many pockets (usually he's wearing cargo shorts).

I know at night I'll have a purse...so I wasn't thinking so much of that. I was wondering during the day, walking around ship...I know DH has pockets in his swim suit and when we are at a hotel he just keeps it on him when he goes in the pool. So I'm sure he will do that same if we go swimming. Interesting all the reasons and variations.

BTW- I do own a fanny pack and DO plan on bringing it. I feel better having that around my waist then a bag over my shoulder. Just personal preference and it prolly something I will always have with me when travelling.

A wristlet for evenings is so much more convenient than a purse. Also, when we go to the pools or hang out on deck, we take a beach bag with our stuff in it. What's nice about the lanyard from the casino is that you can attach it to the handle and stuff your card down in the bag. It keeps it easy to find and it's not floating around loose.

Ha Ha!!! I agree. My husband has his punched and has the coil thingy clip on his belt loop. I tried it once and hated it. It goes in my back pocket.

When it comes to you S&S card. Do you prefer a lanyard that has a plastic sleeve your card goes into, a lanyard that your card get punched and it attaches directly to the card? Neither? Or something else?

I use a small black "wallet" with a cord to wear it around my neck. The front has a place of my S&S card or DL when I get off the ship. The back has 2 zippers - one for dollars & one for change.

I do have my S&S card punched and attach it to a cord which clips to the "wallet" for when I'm in the casino.

When I am on board during the day and lazing around the pool, I use one of these so I can keep it with me when I go in the pool or on the waterslide, otherwise it goes in my small cross-shoulder purse or camera bag:

For most of the cruise I kept mine on a lanyard with a waterproof pocket on it. I loved it because I could carry it anywhere, either on me or in my bag. The pocket could hold Chapstick, S&S card, money, ID. It was incredibly useful in ports and on excursions since I didn't need to worry about it getting lost and I knew that all my stuff was safe from water (ex. Cave tubing). It's great when you don't want to carry extra bags with you.
