argybargy Posted January 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2014 We are wondering what, if any alternative option there is to the Azamazing evenings which are part of each cruise. We have been on two of these and enjoyed them immensely, but thinking about our forthcoming cruise, we may want to skip this one, and enjoy the ship in peace and quiet! Can anyone say what happens on board, if most of the ship's pax are living it up ashore? I understand the MDR is open, and I thought someone mentioned a film being shown on the swimming pool deck? Would be interested to know if you have ever chosen not to take the Az Eve!

The Pursuits newsletter delivered to your cabin the night before will outline what's available and/or open when the Azamazing Evening is being held. Ours was held on the pool deck and during that time there were no other activities were held elsewhere until 9 pm, when the pianist started playing at Club Luxe on deck 5. Dining was somewhat curtailed as well. Aqualina was open but Prime C was not, for example.
Phxazzcruisers Posted January 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2014 During one of our cruises we enjoyed a nice quiet time on the ship and another great dinner in the Specialty Restaurant.
midwestchick Posted January 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2014 What is the deadline for cancelling the Azamazing even if you so choose? I believe I read somewhere if you sign up and don't show up, there is a charge. Is this correct?

Hi - this is the cancellation policy on the Land Discoveries site - this was shown as the Terms and Conditions for the Azamazing Evening: Terms and Conditions Cancellations: Because Azamara Club Cruises incurs costs for each participating guest, we ask that you let us know by no later than 10:00 PM the previous day if you decide not to attend. Confirmed guests who do not cancel by this deadline and do not show up will be assessed a cancellation fee of $100 per person. Onboard Credits (OBCs) cannot be used to pay for cancellation fees. wripro Posted January 8, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2014 If they charge $100 for a no show because that's what it cost them per passenger then they should credit you $100 for declining to participate.

Good point! Or, for those of us that have to pay for our land discoveries, give us the credit on a tour we've booked. :D :D :p

Hello there Hattie Yes, I remember you telling us that you enjoyed the pool deck open air film on the night we went on our Azamazing evening…..and to be honest, sometimes after a hectic sightseeing day, that sounds ideal! All the best for 2014 to you both!

All the best for 2014 to you both! Hi Argy, Thank you so much, same to you. It was very relaxing, we had good intentions of getting the tender back to Sorrento and having an evening in the town but once they started pouring the Sauvignon Blanc it all seemed far too much effort ! Enjoy your evening onboard or your Azamazing evening, whichever you chose - are you going anywhere nice ? We've nothing booked this year yet although after a wonderful trip on Queen Elizabeth in October I think we may be heading back to Cunard again. AzamaraJoel Posted January 14, 2014 #13 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Hi argybargy! Yes! All facilities are open as per usual opening hours, such as bars, restaurants, and spa. But the casino and shops will be closed since we are in port. Not all guests participate in the AzAmazing Evenings, so there will always be things available to do. It is quiet, though, and there are no shows on during the time of the AzAmazing Evenings event. Thanks!
