Homosassa Posted January 9, 2014 #26 Share Posted January 9, 2014 I have had the yum yum man smile at us as we left the dining room, hold out a treat and say"Yum yum?" Nothing offensive about it.
Typhoon1 Posted January 9, 2014 #27 Share Posted January 9, 2014 As Carol said; the official title for the position used to be Doorman with HAL. It has since been changed to Dining room greeter He can sometimes be found at the gangway greeting guests returning to the ship from shore excursions. Generally, an all around good humor guy. obriendan Posted January 10, 2014 #28 Share Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Here’s a picture of a well known Yum Yum man, Raymond, on formal night with DW Barb. It is from a 2002 Antartica cruise on the Ryndam. Raymond had a very outgoing personality. Whenever he saw me withourt Barb he would say "Where’s your honey!" This was in the days before the hotel charge and tipping was to individuals. Raymond as the Yum Yum man knew everyone and everyone, as Raymond would say, loves Raymond! I am very sure that he really, deservedly so, cleaned up! Dan Edited January 10, 2014 by obriendan
catl331 Posted January 10, 2014 #29 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Here’s a picture of a well known Yum Yum man, Raymond, on formal night with DW Barb. I've never seen such a fancy YumYum uniform. Was that just on formal nights?
Rare Copper10-8 Posted January 10, 2014 #30 Share Posted January 10, 2014 I've never seen such a fancy YumYum uniform. Was that just on formal nights? All he needs is a black top hat and black boots and he could be one of those circus MC's ;)
Host Walt Posted January 10, 2014 #31 Share Posted January 10, 2014 The term "Yum Yum Man" is an extremely vulgar term in some parts of the world, which is probably a term not used officially HAL shipss. This thread is closed.
