What is a yum yum man?

I have had the yum yum man smile at us as we left the dining room, hold out a treat and say"Yum yum?"

 

Nothing offensive about it.

As Carol said; the official title for the position used to be Doorman with HAL. It has since been changed to Dining room greeter

 

He can sometimes be found at the gangway greeting guests returning to the ship from shore excursions.

 

Generally, an all around good humor guy.

Here’s a picture of a well known Yum Yum man, Raymond, on formal night with DW Barb. It is from a 2002 Antartica cruise on the Ryndam. Raymond had a very outgoing personality. Whenever he saw me withourt Barb he would say "Where’s your honey!" This was in the days before the hotel charge and tipping was to individuals. Raymond as the Yum Yum man knew everyone and everyone, as Raymond would say, loves Raymond! I am very sure that he really, deservedly so, cleaned up!

The term "Yum Yum Man" is an extremely vulgar term in some parts of the world, which is probably a term not used officially HAL shipss.
